This is a must for a wedding photographer as natural light does not wait for those special moments. Hi, I’m Michael, a documentary wedding photographer, commercial videographer and aspiring video journalist.

Based on the Gold Coast, I shoot weddings locally around Australia and New Zealand. I also love to travel while I work so much that I will do it for free! See my special offer about this.

A trip to Europe last decade gave me the incentive to begin my studies in photography. This vacation gave me a great appreciation for how much beauty there is in the world that the eye sometimes misses; as such my journey into showcasing this began with landscapes, which also quickly branched into portraiture. I love differences between capturing candid natural moments, the art of directing poses and the fun to be had from relating to people and finding ways to excite people into recreating spontaneous moments. It is truly rewarding to see the results and to see how happy and surprised people are that certain moments can be captured. I enjoy being able to reconstruct these natural moments in time by establishing a connection with people.

I have been working in Information Technology and process operation until 2015 but have always held an appreciation for the beauty of nature, in particular, moments in time. Be it a brief emotion captured in an instant, or the passing of the stars in the night sky. This has always fascinated me.

There comes a time when your passion is so strong that you realize the only way to fuel and sustain it is to sacrifice everything and dive head long into the journey to turn passion and dreams into reality. So in 2015 I not only left my Brisbane job, sold my house to buy photography gear, but moved to the Gold Coast and commenced a Bachelor Degree in Digital Media specializing in Digital Design and Photojournalism while continuing to grow mkdImagery.com
